The Dietary Guidelines for Australian Adults are your best guide to food, nutrition and health. Below are the Dietary Guidelines for Adults as well as Children between the ages of 12 and 18. Additional brochures and information can be found at www.nhmrc.gov.au.

According to the Dietary Guidelines for Australian Adults, women between the age of 19-60 years should be consuming 4-9 cereals, 5 vegetables, 2 fruits, 2 dairy, 1 meat and 0-2 ½ extra food each day. Men between the ages of 19-60 year should be eating 6-12 cereals, 5 vegetables, 2 fruits, 2 dairy, 1 meat and 0-3 extra foods.
